• Accounting Manager/Part-Time

    Position Summary:
    The Part-Time Accounting Manager will oversee all financial aspects of the organization, ensuring accurate accounting records, financial reports, and compliance with legal and grant requirements. This individual will play a key role in maintaining transparency and accountability in the organization finances, supporting the leadership team in budgeting, financial forecasting, and strategic decision-making.
    Responsibilities Include:
    • Financial Management:
      • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
      • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
      • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Budgeting & Forecasting:
      • Assist in the development of annual budgets and monitor ongoing performance against the budget.
      • Provide financial analysis and forecasting to support the Executive Director and leadership team in decision-making.
    • Compliance & Auditing:
      • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as non-profit accounting standards.
      • Prepare for and assist with audits, ensuring all required documentation is organized and accessible.
    • Grant Reporting:
      • Monitor and track restricted and unrestricted grant funds, ensuring proper allocation and reporting as required by donors and funders.
      • Assist in preparing financial reports for grantors, ensuring compliance with grant terms and conditions.
    • Cash Flow Management:
      • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the organization’s financial stability.
      • Work with the Executive Director to identify any potential cash flow issues and recommend solutions.
    • Collaboration & Training:
      • Work closely with other departments to support financial decision-making and ensure smooth operations.
      • Provide training and guidance on financial procedures to staff, as needed.
    Qualifications:
    1. Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit or mission-driven organization.
    2. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial reporting.
    3. Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
    4. Knowledge of non-profit financial regulations, fund accounting, and grant management is a plus.
    5. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
    6. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
    7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
